Hey there! I hope you’re at your best higher self and safe in your area. Since the pandemic has started we are going crazy but at the same time, we’re winning at it. Though it’s a proud moment for all us, we are all in this together. This time is here to teach us nor past, neither future but the ‘present’. All we can do nowadays in this tragedic lockdown is to make our present better because we don’t know we can’t even think what the future will bring to us. And in this journey of exploring your real self just in the present moment, we are trying to learn more things and more skills.
In all those skills and awareness there’s another Major skill a lot of people working on nowadays, that’s Mindfulness. If you don’t know how to be mindful, give me a pleasure to tell you about it.
WHAT IS MINDFULNESS?
Mindfulness is the process of bringing awareness to our present self. In easy words, we use mindfulness for the purpose of exploring ourselves, noticing everything happening in/on our body, whether thoughts, sensations, breath, surroundings accepting without judgements and let our mind wander.
Most of us are either living in the past or future, but there’s only present, the ‘now’. We know that, but we never take it as a real game. Living in the present is all we learned during our happy and sad moments, but still, we allow ourselves to think old and new without any reason.
Are you the one? Well no problem at all!
We can stop doing it though by practicing some techniques. Practicing mindfulness helps us to find purpose and brings peace to us in this fast pace world. Therefore we should practice mindfulness every day as we crave peace.
HOW TO BE MINDFUL NOW?
We usually never focus on the things we are doing right now, for example: while brushing we either cursing ourselves, thinking about our coming day, or counting the things we have to do next, but never about brushing, are we doing it right? So, here are some tips on how to be mindful. You can do it at your favorite peaceful place, close your eyes( to have more impact), and travel in your body.
While you’re sitting in your comfortable position in peace, practice breathing by inhaling deep and exhaling your breath with a slightly open mouth. To have more deep breathing you can count equal numbers while inhaling and exhaling and feel the flow, feel how the air is going inside, how it feeds your body. It will balance your mind and body because the mind is always running and the body is just not ready. We want our minds and body to be aligned.
EMPTY YOUR MIND
Our mind is always full of Unwanted thoughts, and to empty your mind take a few moments to be still. While sitting just try not to think any other thought, just feel that you’re alive, feel calm, and just relax.
BRING IT BACK
While doing the above point, your mind will wander as a natural act, can distract you from the present moment, but accept that it’s okay and bring it back. Do not force and curse yourself, just do it calmly and politely.
RELEASE TENSION IN YOUR BODY
If you feel any tension anywhere on your body, press the points gently. For example: If you feel pain in your neck, press the points gently while keeping yourself relax and calm.
FOCUS ON YOUR SENSES
Senses are the best part off humankind, and we can always appreciate them by focusing on them. Focus on your eyes(try to find well in everything), taste( how it tastes), smell, skin, what do you hear (hear what you want to listen).
Forgive yourself for all the negative thoughts. Thoughts come naturally we can’t control what type of thought occurs, but we can be aware of it, accept it and let it be. If you’re going to say to yourself, “why I am like this, why I always think negative”, you’ll gonna close the door to peace.
I hope this will be helpful for you, share this with your favorite person who need to learn mindfulness now and earn the reward of helping them, what other mindful steps you discovered?
